A Community Storytelling Series

For our fourth and FINAL night of the season, the theme is PARENT POWER.

Our first speaker, is Paige Southwood. She’s taking us to Morroco with her story called “They might be monsters.”

In 2019, she planned a three-week trip with her two children to explore the small villages and rural mountain towns throughout Morocco. What was intended to be an introduction to greater cultural awareness and appreciation for their soft lives in Silicon Valley soon became a little shop of horrors as she watched their unabashed entitlement on full display. Could her good intentions change the course of their trip and their attitudes, or was I destined to raise two 21st-century monsters?

Our second speaker, is local teacher and former expedition leader for Lindblad/National Geographic Rab Cummings. Join him as he takes us on a journey with his family in a broken-down Subaru armed with binoculars and walking shoes as they build indelible ties to the place we call home, Montana.

This month all donations will go to support Peak Academy.
Suggested donation: $10 (please bring cash)

WHAT IS MOUNTAIN YARNS?

A community storytelling series where we come together to share stories of our mountain adventures, whether those adventures are in our backyard or from far flung corners of the world.

Each month features a theme and two to three storytellers. Beer and beverages are provided for a suggested donation of $10 that goes straight to that month’s chosen non-profit. 🍻
