Mountain Yarns is Back!

We’re bringing back Mountain Yarns, our community storytelling series. In this series TMP community members share mountain adventures on that month’s theme. Adventures can be big or small, in our back yard or thousands of miles away, or any good story you have to tell.

Each month of the series has its own unique theme, three storytellers, and a non-profit we raise money for through donations for the beer and bevvies we provide. The suggested donation is $10.

Below are the themes for the 23-24 Winter series. Note all events start at 7pm sharp.

Thursday, Nov. 16 - "COVID Adventures" - Non-profit: Montana Wilderness School
Thursday, Jan. 25  - "Climbing Epics" - Non-profit: Montana Mountaineering Association
Thursday, Feb. 22 - "Back in the Day" - Non-profit: BYEP
Thursday, March 21 - "Parent Power" - Peak Academy

Looking for inspiration for your story? Here are examples of past speaks and their stories on the theme of Wildlife:

@stevenbrutger from @troutunlimited shared a sea kayak misadventure where stranded on an island in Baja, Steven and his fellow guide had to babysit and release a newly hatched nest of sea turtles; @janis_putelis from @meateater who was charged by a grizzly bear during an elk hunt on Afognak Island in Alaska; and Ron Addlington will share another grizzly charge story (in the dead of winter) while bird hunting with his dogs.
